HISTORY

Turbat International Airport is situated in Balochistan, province of Pakistan, having the largest land. It is the second biggest Airport of Balochistan after Quetta. The airport is situated 5 KM South of the City. The land of the Airport is situated in Chahser, Turbat, District Kech Makran Balochistan.

1. 1970 - Initially Old Runway and Apron Constructed.
2. 1971 - PIAC F-27, Aircraft start operating.
3. Only one handling agent was responsible for passenger briefing, present PIAC office was used for briefing of passengers, ATC/Fire Section was not available. Thereafter, step by step development of Building/present shape of the Airport developed as under
   • 1979         -           Present Apron/Runway constructed re-carpeted.
   • 1980         -           Initially only present Departure Lounge was constructed used as Departure/Arrival Lounge (both).
   • 1983         -           Present briefing area was constructed.
     • ATC Building and Residential Quarters for Two Room constructed.
     • 1984   -           Present Approach Road constructe
4. 1994   -           Pakistan State Oil building constructed.
5. 1994   -           ASF Barracks constructed.
6. 2000   -           Present Admin Offices near ATC Building was constructed.
7. 2003   -           Present Arrival Lounge/Visitors Verandah/CIP/VIP Constructed.
8. Custom and Immigration facilities available for passengers.  Domestic / International Flights (Muscat and Sharja) are in progress.
9. 2005   -           DVLS Room constructed.
10. 2008   -           New office building near Terminal Building at Turbat Airport has completed.  Room allotted to the sister agencies.
11. New Arrival Lounge and Control Tower is planned in the current year.
